St Saviour's Community Seminars 2011

Aging Options

Explore the options available to older members of our community

Useful to seniors as well as others involved in helping them make lifestyle decisions.

One of the hardest choices as we age is where to live.  It’s a decision  affecting
the older person and their loved ones.  Ease of mind, quality of life, quality time
with family and friends, finances – these are just some of  the considerations.

Accommodation options for seniors today are many and varied, e g:

  • Staying in the family home with home-help
  • Retirement villages
  • Serviced apartments
  • Aged care centres.

Various home support services are available from our
Councils & the State and Commonwealth governments.

This seminar looks at advantages and disadvantages of different
accommodation options.  Information will also be available on
other services and where to seek advice (e.g. know your rights).

Who should attend:

  • Seniors
  • Caring family members
  • Other carers and loved ones
